Julian California is famous for its Julian Apple Pies, but this cute little town is a perfect setting for a rustic Spring Wedding.  We still love our San Diego beach weddings, but it was really nice to change it up and go east into the mountains and capture this beautiful marriage of Dan and Cairie.

From the get go the relaxed and rustic feel to Cairie and Dan’s wedding had us feeling right at home. Stone fired pizza, local craft brews and a play tent for the little ones Cairie and Dan’s summer wedding was serving up serious laid back California vibes. The private estate located in Julian, California boasted lush greenery and massive trees leaving us feeling as if we had steeped into a secret garden. The estate combined with the bright colored wildflowers and market lights complimented the vintage feel that Cairie and Dan gave off. Cairie redefined bridal cool in her lace gown, gold head-piece and leather clogs. Dan looked dapper in a brown suit accented with his blue hanky and daisy tie. This couple truly marched to the beat of their own drum and we couldn’t get enough of their fresh, relaxed ambiance.

We met up with Dan and Cairie at their little cottage just a short walk away from the ceremony site where they would soon become husband and wife.  Originally from California, they now live in Colorado, so I immediately felt a connection to them as I spent a number of years living in Colorado myself.  The mountainous setting with pine trees surrounding us made it feel as though we were in Colorado.  Surrounded by family and friends it was a beautiful ceremony with a vine covered arbor as a backdrop.  After a truck load (literally) of pizzas they replaced a wedding cake with some of the tastiest doughnuts I have ever had, from Donut Bar in San Diego.  The night continued on (I’m sure long after I was gone) with dancing under the twinkling lights illuminating the trees surrounding the dance floor.
