Jazmine & Michael’s wedding was full of firsts for our photography team. A handful of new locations across San Diego made for so many dynamic wedding photos. We met Jazmine at The Pendry in San Diego where the girls were getting dolled up by Vy Pham’s makeup and hair team. Jazmine opted to have bridesmaids and brides-men and it was so fun to see how she tied in the bridesmaid’s dresses with the guy’s attire. The girls each wore a unique dress in blush pink, while the brides-men wore the traditional Filipino barong in a matching pink. After some impromptu dance parties and laughs it was time for Jazmine to get into her wedding dress. It was a stunning trumpet, wedding gown with a intricately beaded bodice and skirt and it was STUNNING! Jazmine opened her gift from Michael while her bridesmaids, brides-men and mother looked on. Watching her tear up to Michael’s letter was such a sweet and emotional moment. Her gift? An adorable Mickey & Minnie Mouse snow globe perfect for this playful couple!
Then it was off to the church. The couple’s ceremony was held at The Immaculata at USD. The church is just as stunning inside as it is outside. The outside is dominated by Spanish architecture with a red tile roof and mosaic dome while the inside featured beautiful columns and stained glass windows. The newlyweds exited the church with a sword ceremony performed by Michael’s Navy brothers. The sword ceremony has beautiful symbolism as the military service members literally shelter the newlyweds beneath the arch. After a few portraits in front of the Immaculata at USD it was time to celebrate! Jazmine & Michael booked a wedding trolley to transport the wedding party to The Kissing Statue at Seaport Village. Michael couldn’t wait to dip his new bride in front of the kissing statue and we couldn’t wait to capture it! We love all of the little things that make a couple’s day all their own and this was definitely one of them. Then it was off to the wedding reception, which took place at The New Children’s Museum in San Diego.
We can’t think of a more eclectic and whimsical wedding venue in San Diego than The New Children’s Museum. From the modern design to the cheery colors this wedding venue will surely bring out your inner child. It was the perfect setting for Jazmine & Michael’s playful souls to celebrate their marriage. It was amazing to see how the couple’s family and friends creatively transformed the museum backdrop into the wedding reception of the couple’s dreams. We love how The New Children’s Museum can truly become anything the couple wants. Amidst all of the modern architecture and children’s activity rooms Jazmine & Michael were able to pull off a more rustic vibe. Pink flowers in mason jars sat on top of slices of tree trunk. Jazmine’s father made the tree inspired cake stand complete with lovebirds perched among the branches.
The night was filled with fun choreographed dances, amazing food and lots of laughter- fitting for this fun couple and venue. It was such as honor to photograph Jazmine & Michael’s whimsical wedding!
Shoutout to Jazmine & Michael’s creative team who made their wedding day uniquely their’s:
