Mayte + Ramon planned their epic rustic wedding day at one of our favorite San Diego Wedding Venues, BRICK Liberty Station. Brick. 828 wedding venue was the perfect backdrop for the couples wedding celebration. This Liberty Station wedding venue is the perfect mix of industrial meets historic. If you’re looking for an urban wedding venue in San Diego you should check out BRICK located at 2863 Historic Decatur Rd. San Diego, CA 92106. BRICK’s in-house wedding coordinator, Victoria along with the help of florist Casey from Ruffle Effect helped the couple achieve their dream wedding.

Organic, free flowing florals and family style farmhouse tables added coziness and elegance to the industrial space. Casey from Ruffle Effect created a beautiful vine wall installation behind the sweetheart table creating a show stopping focal point. The couple had the help of family and friends for creating some special DIY touches. Mayte and Ramon are wanderlusts and have traveled many parts of the world together so they had some special touches that pay homage to their lust for adventure together. A friend hand painted their seating chart and table numbers all of which were different places the couple had visited together.

These two really infused their personalities into their wedding day and we could not get enough. The wedding was catered by Phil’s BBQ a favorite of the bride and groom. There was something so awesome about Mayte rocking the plastic bib in her white wedding gown with a big old plate of BBQ in front of her. A mariachi serenaded guests during cocktail hour on the lawn outside of BRICK. Meanwhile we were able to sneak the couple away for some wedding photos all around Liberty Station. Adventuring with these two finding fun photo backdrops and stopping traffic to grab a snap shot beneath the iconic Liberty Station sign was unforgettable.

IT was time for the party to get started and little did we know, Mayte and Ramon really know how to throw one heck of a bash! The mariachi joined in for the beginning of the reception, joined later by a DJ and a FULL band, I’m talking drums, saxophones, bongo’s, Maraca’s, EVERYTHING! Friends and family filled the dance floor all night, until boxes and boxes of pizza rolled in around 10:30 or so for some late-night snacking (AWESOME)!

You can feel the love these to have for each other and thier zest for life, it was SO amazing getting to know them both. In case you want to know them a little better before taking a peek at this beautiful wedding they created representative of their Journey to love, then here is their love story!

Their Love Story..

Her Story: Do you believe in destiny? After meeting Ramon, I sure do. From withdrawing my decision to attend UCSC to deciding to get up and attend my 8AM lecture. Let’s be honest, waking up to go to your 8AM in high school was easy, getting up in college, not so easy. So I may have snoozed past my class a few times. On the day we met, I woke up and made it to class and decided that I wanted to watch one of my dad’s favorite shows, The Price is Right. As I watched tv, Ramon walked in as he waited for a classmate to walk to class (thank you RJ for being late ;)). We started talking and found out that we had attended rival schools, he was a San Fernando Alumni and I was a Sylmar Alumni and that is how our story began. We became good friends and ultimately dated throughout college. We shared many great experiences and even had the opportunity to study abroad together and travel to 9 European Countries. After graduation, we continued our love for traveling, which led to our proposal day. While out on vacation in Cancun, we came to our last day, we both woke up sick and spent most of our day trying to recover from whatever it was that we caught. He convinced me to get out of my jammies and go out for dinner. We enjoyed dinner and walked through the beach and he popped the question, my response… “O-M-G, shut up, are you serious?”

His Story: Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped turned upside down…kidding. Our story began in the common room of our college dorms at UC Irvine in 2011. This is where we first met, breaking the ice with the extremely non-original ‘where are you from?’ question. After discovering the many things we had in common, we became inseparable. From her copying my major to her following me around the world as I studied abroad, inseparable. Our goals, dreams and aspirations mirrored each other’s in every way. That’s when I knew, this was my woman. So after 5 long years of making her wait, I decided to make her mine forever. I got down in one knee on a beach somewhere in Mexico, music playing in the background, faint light in the distance and asked if she would marry me. To my surprise she said to shut up, shocked I said I was serious. Eventually she agreed, and that pretty much brings us to today.

Here is what Mayte and Ramon had to say after receiving their wedding gallery:

“Emily and Ryan are absolutely amazing, from the minute I saw their photography in their gallery I knew I wanted them to be a part of my special day and I was so happy that I made that choice. From the first time I spoke to Ryan he has always been professional and always available if any questions arise. His expertise we’re the extra cherry on top, he always provided great recommendations and asked the perfect questions prior to the wedding in order to make sure that everything ran smoothly the day of. For our wedding we had 2 photographers, Ryan and his amazing wife, Emily. Not only are Emily and Ryan professional and make every step of the process easy, but they have great personalities that make the evening fun while taking photos. My husband who is not a fan of taking photos was telling me the whole day how we had made the perfect choice with our photographers. Emily and Ryan go above and beyond to get all your perfect shots. I cannot thank them enough for all of our beautiful photos. We also had the opportunity to have a photo booth with Emily and all our family had so much fun taking pictures and the book of photos we received in the end are a great memory for us.”
