Heather + Jim :: Dog Beach Engagement :: Ocean Beach, CA

For this blog I just need to start with the fact that Ryan and I feel so blessed to be doing what we love, photographing amazing couples who are deeply in love. And to be doing what we love in such an amazing location, California is definitely one of our favorite states that we have been able to call home. I feel like these pictures illustrate just how beautiful our surroundings are here in San Diego and too often we can take for granted that we live in this breath taking vacation destination. This engagement session features some of our favorite things:

All elements combined make this engagement session one for the record books! Heather, Jim and their two fur babies showed up for their engagement session at the dog friendly beach called Ocean Beach and we instantly hit it off. The conditions were perfect for photography just the slightest overcast skies offering up soft diffused light. We were able to get some amazing engagement photos with the dogs despite the distraction and excitement of being at the beach. But our favorite photos came later in the day as golden hour edged in on us we took a stroll toward the pier. It was beautiful the way the pier framed out the photos and how the sun illuminated them from the side. As the tide picked up a wave came and swept over Heather & Jim’s feet enveloping them beautifully for an amazing shot worth getting wet for. They were such amazing sports despite getting wet. They just laughed it off and we continued along the beach towards the rocky shoreline. The sun began to set making for some amazing sunset engagement photos. Overall, one of our favorite engagement sessions, hands down!
