After having Brent as a groomsman in two weddings in the past 12 months, it was amazing to finally capture his marriage to the beautiful Kia at Ethereal Gardens. Running into Brent and Kia at their friend’s weddings and seeing just how in love these two are made us even more excited for their wedding day. It also now makes perfect sense that Kia said after meeting Brent in college it was really his dance moves that sealed the deal for her! If you start with love, add in some bright colors, and a truckload of heartfelt moments you would have Kia and Brent’s perfect wedding day. These two invited their friends and family to Ethereal Gardens wedding venue located at 8561 W. Lilac Rd, in Escondido California. It was a picturesque setting for the couple’s summer wedding. Bloom Babes can now add “queens of color” to their resumes as they decked out Kia and Brent’s tented reception space with fuchsia Bougainvillea blooms, sliced papaya and mustard accents. The entire scene was fresh, bright, juicy summer goodness and complimented the couple’s joyful disposition perfectly.

Kia stunned in her Martina Liana wedding gown and cathedral length veil. Her mother and sister zipped her into the beautiful unique lace gown before walking over to see Brent for a first look. She decided to wait to put the veil on until just before the wedding ceremony so it was an added surprise to Brent which I thought was a very cool idea worth sharing. A few deep breaths then she walked over and embraced Brent until he turned around. The two cried, laughed and literally just radiated happiness as we took photographs from afar to respect their moment. After the first look we gave them a bit of alone time before taking photographs of the bridal party in the starry night meadow at Ethereal Gardens.

The ceremony took place in the meadow beneath the green arbor cascading with bougainvillea. The sun soaked the meadow as Kia, escorted by her mother and father made the walk towards Brent. Their ceremony was officiated by Brent’s brother who with the inside scoop on the couple made the entire ceremony so warm with emotion. He did such an amazing job that as I walked in to say goodbye to the couple before their grand entrance I saw Kia in tears as her and Brent were talking about the ceremony and recounting all that had happened. Kia was saying to Brent between sobs “I knew Aaron liked me, but he just said the NICEST things.” It was the sweetest thing and a moment I won’t forget.

The wedding reception didn’t feel like a wedding reception at all, more like a fun, energetic, wild and eclectic dance party (we were living for it). This group can dance so there was no shortage of epic moments for us to capture out on the dance floor. Kia and Brent are sweet enough as it is but to make things even sweeter they opted for a three tiered cinnamon roll instead of a tradition wedding cake (OBSESSED). We pulled away from Brent + Kia’s wedding that night feeling so grateful to have been a part of the wedding days of this little group of friends, getting to know Kia and Brent throughout that process and then document their wedding day was amazing. These two are just awesome humans you can feel it the way they treat you, the way they interact with their friends and their family and all the love they had around them on their wedding day. It’s one of the hardest things to come up with a “thank you” meaningful enough to extend to our couples. From the bottom of our hearts thank you for allowing us to witness your love, the beautiful relationships you have with your friends and family and all of the moments from your wedding day that we will never forget.

Here is what Kia and Brent had to say after receiving their wedding gallery:

“We are BEYOND happy with Ryan and Emily at EMRY photography!!! We were referred to EMRY by a friend of ours at our wedding venue – but actually had the pleasure of meeting them while they were working at two of our other friend’s weddings! 😊(They are busy bees, but from the quality of their work, you can totally see why!) From the moment we booked them, they were both so communicative and supportive in helping us figure out what we wanted for our special day. The questionnaire was very helpful and both are quick in responding to texts, calls, and emails – which definitely helped put our minds at ease along the way. They are so so sweet and really care about the memories we wanted to make. ❤️ When our wedding day arrived, Ryan was professional, punctual, and so fun. He really helped capture our story and timeline wonderfully. He and Emily helped my husband and I, our bridal parties, and families feel comfortable with all of the goings on of the day. They gave great direction and were the perfect mix of flexibility and firmness – they were down for everything, but wanted to get things done! We never felt rushed or like we were missing out on anything. We are so thrilled with how everything turned out and we are so grateful for Ryan and Emily helping to make our wedding day so memorable and amazing! 🥰❤️”
