We first met Mallory & Sebastian last fall for their engagement session. And after talking Germany, beer, and proposals we knew we were the perfect wedding photographers to capture their wedding day. We were so excited for their wedding at Ethereal Open Air Resort. Ethereal Resort is one of our all time favorite wedding venues in the Temecula area and it doesn’t hurt that is a biking distance from our house.

Mallory and Sebastian started their day at Pala Resort & Casino where wedding hair & makeup was under way. The girls relaxed with champagne and joked while the guys had barely began the getting ready process (always is the case, ha). Mallory chose to have her hair styled with beautiful classic waves and a pinned back bang, so timeless! It really complimented her cathedral length-wedding veil.

After wedding hair & makeup the bridal party was off to Ethereal Open Air Resort located just outside of Temecula, CA. This wedding venue is the epitome of rustic wedding elegance. We are just going to come right out and say it, Ethereal Resort has the best bridal and groom suites around! The suites are large and decked to the nines with amazing décor.

While the girls got into their beautiful blush-nude dresses the guys sipped beer from custom steins that they were gifted from the groom. Each stein had the grooms mans face depicted on the mug and on the other side their role in the wedding. The perfect gift from their German buddy! The bridesmaids looked on while Mallory got into her wedding gown. She wore an elegant embroidered and beaded sheath wedding gown with a long train, sweetheart neckline and a cathedral length veil. She was just stunning. We snuck the bride and groom away for a first look down the jasmine walkway at ethereal. It was sweet and emotional to see Mallory tear up as Sebastian turned to her and held her in his arms. A first look can be such an intimate moment that involves only the two of you and we loved the moments we were able to capture during Sebastian and Mallory’s first look.

Meanwhile the guests began arriving and filled the barn ceremony site. The wedding venue offers multiple wedding ceremony location options. Mallory & Sebastian chose to have a rustic barn wedding. The ceremony was located inside the beautiful barn at Ethereal. The gorgeous wooden beams and a chandelier dripping in crystals make any barn ceremony, taking place at Ethereal Resort truly spectacular! Not to mention it really lends to this beautiful feeling of intimacy during the wedding ceremony. Sebastian opted to have the doors closed during the ceremony and the sun rays beaming through the wooden doors was truly dare I say ethereal? A wooden arbor draped in eucalyptus and fresh flowers made for the perfect ceremony backdrop.

Sebastian and guests waited with the barn doors closed until Mallory arrived. It was such a dramatic and beautiful moment to have the doors swing open allowing both beaming sunshine and a beaming Mallory to enter the barn. After the I-do’s we swept the couple away for a more photos around the property, from the cathedral to the intricate iron gate Ethereal Open Air Resort has no shortage of photo opportunities for your wedding day. After cocktail hour on the lawn beneath twinkling market lights guests took their seats in the tented reception space.

The décor was timeless, elegant and clean. The wooden tables and chairs offered the rustic wedding aesthetic while draping white linens softened the rectangular edges and offered a romantic vibe to the space. We loved the combination of tall floral arrangements and short ones intermixed on the tables. The flowers were clean with soft green and creamy white roses mixed with some greenery. Short mercury glass candles and tall clear candle-holders gave soft warmth to the space. We were in love with Mallory & Sebastian’s wedding favors for the guests. Their wedding favors were small steins with their names and a heart glazed on the front. A small tag tied with ribbon read “Danke Schoen”. We loved how the couple brought Sebastian’s culture into their wedding day, from the steins to the family crest displayed on the bar every detail was thought of.

The couple entered their reception in style with a choreographed waltz while guests cheered them on. DJ V Smooth kept the party going on the dance floor until it was time for the cake cut. We loved all of the flowers on Mallory & Sebastian’s cake. After the dessert bar the party moved indoors to Ethereal’s other wedding reception location, which offers up the same rustic charm as the rest of the wedding venue. An epic bar, huge chandeliers and colored up lights are the perfect backdrop to dance the night away. Even grandma got out her dancing shoes and did a number with both the bride and groom. For us, it’s all about the generations at weddings the legacies of love that came before us. So capturing these moments really mean a great deal to us.

Mallory and Sebastian ended the night with sparkle and shine in a sparkler exit that illuminated the night. A huge thank-you, to Mallory & Sebastian for allowing us into your lives for your wedding day. Letting us experience the moments, emotions and laughs with you and your dearest friends and family means the world to us. Congratulations!
